We embarked on a new extension project for the rear façade, drawing inspiration from the existing bay window's striking 45-degree design. This fresh extension gracefully envelops the bay window, giving birth to two new spaces seamlessly integrated into the living kitchen: a utility room and a winter living area.

To access the utility room, we ingeniously cut open the existing mantelpiece, creating a playful path to the refrigerator. In the winter living area, a cozy ambiance is set by a fireplace adorned with oak cladding, carefully chosen to match the exterior window profiles, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor harmony. To enhance the home's identity, we extended the window openings down to the floor level. A wide sliding window in the winter living area extends the garden deep into the home on sunny spring days.

In the kitchen, a stainless steel kitchen island was selected to perfectly align with the existing and reclaimed terrazzo floor. The dark green-stained oak, along with the Muller Van Severen wire cabinet, completes this material palette.
