SWEET
Project Sweet is an old candy factory that has been transformed into offices for Mortelmans Van Tricht Architects. The entire building has been carefully refurbished, preserving its industrial heritage while reinterpreting other elements. Upon entering, you'll find yourself on the highest level in the so-called 'plaza'. The floor pattern consists of reclaimed factory tiles, creatively arranged to create a playful atmosphere. This space serves as a waiting area for visitors, a place for employees to take a break from their desks, a setting for team brainstorming sessions at a high sketch table and houses meeting rooms.

The floor plan features two main circulation axes. The first was described above, and the second one leads us from the dedicated workstations to the kitchen area. Glass brick walls serve as visual guides along this path, and tall planters create a separation between the workstations and the plaza.

To add a touch of vibrancy to the industrial context, we've incorporated materials such as oak veneer, Prouve red lacquer and coloured MDF, blue-green stucco, green-grey laminate, and mirrors for the kitchen column cabinets.

One floor below, you'll find additional workspaces where a beautiful antique travertine fireplace has been preserved. The second workspace also features a unique element – a bar cabinet integrated into a circular wall. Above the concrete bench, there's a large light fixture, repurposed from its previous life as a candy sorting cabinet, giving it a second chance to shine.
